We would like to announce the birth of Caleb James Kastensmidt. He entered the world on April 27, 2008 at 10:23 pm — weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs. 15 oz. and measuring twenty-two inches. And my wife managed to do it all the old-fashioned way ... no C-Section! The nurses told us that our baby is literally “off the charts” in all of his measurements. It is quite apparent that the steroids, which were given to him two months ago to counter the effects of a potential premature delivery, paid off. He’s a real bruiser!Laura and Caleb are now at home and they are doing great, though both still need lots of recuperation and rest. Our whole family cried after the delivery. Life is such an amazing gift from God, and we really appreciate the many prayers that not only ushered Caleb past the threats of premature birth, but even one day past his due date. Your prayers worked … maybe even too much! God is so good.
Now our prayers are that our son would follow after his biblical namesake, whom the Bible says “followed the Lord fully.”
